At the Chair of Business Administration, specializing in Production Management and Logistics, you will shape the next generation of academic teaching and applied research—digital, modular, practice-oriented, and forward-looking.

You will not be developing individual teaching materials, but rather complete teaching and learning architectures: from lectures to exercises and seminars to digital learning modules. Your goal is to structure classes / courses in such a way that they are didactically consistent, digitally accessible, scalable, and capable of long-term further development.

As part of the ongoing development of a digitized, competency-based, and practice-oriented university curriculum in the field of business administration—particularly production management and logistics—we are seeking a research associate.

A key focus of the position is the conception, development, and comprehensive design of integrated teaching and curriculum architectures. This includes the systematic development, digitization, and continuous refinement of classes / courses, modules, and program components.

The goal is to create modular, didactically consistent, and digitally accessible teaching formats that can be used in in-person, hybrid, and online instruction and further developed over the long term.

A particular focus is on the complete creation of teaching materials (lecture notes, presentation slides, exercises, seminars, and digital teaching formats, including didactic structures and multimedia content). Teaching materials must also be created in English as needed.

In addition, the position holder will support the SCO-TTi (Science Center Oberlausitz – Technology – Transfer – Innovative) research group in scientific development, research, and knowledge transfer activities.

This includes, in particular, the development of research questions, collaboration on the preparation of grant proposals, literature and technology research, the preparation of academic content, and support for publications, research reports, and technology transfer projects with industry partners.

The position thus combines innovative teaching development with applied research and technology transfer at the intersection of business administration, production, digitalization, and future work environments.

In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for the following areas:

Teaching and Curriculum Development

• Development and full implementation of classes / courses in the areas of general business studies, production management, and logistics,
• Creation of structured teaching materials (lecture notes, slides, exercises, seminars),
• Development of lecture scripts ready for delivery to ensure consistent delivery of lectures,
• Designing digital teaching formats (e.g., video, audio, microlearning, interactive content),
• Further development and updating of existing teaching modules, e.g., the business administration module for engineering and natural science degree programs (100950), lean production, and high-tech production systems,
• Classes / courses totaling 4 SWS,
• Participation in program development (e.g., Digital Business & Engineering),
• Coordination with internal and external partners (companies, faculty),
• Analysis of market, technology, and educational trends,
• Participation in internal university development and change processes in the teaching sector,
• Analyzing subject-matter, technological, and pedagogical developments to continuously improve course content,
• Supporting internal university coordination and development processes in the teaching sector.

Research and Knowledge Transfer

• Participation in the SCO-TTi research group,
• Supporting the development of new research questions and scientific concepts,
• Preparation and refinement of grant proposals at the national and international levels,
• Conducting literature and technology reviews,
• Contributing to scientific publications, reports, and presentations,
• Supporting research and technology transfer projects with companies and external partners,
• Participation in the development of scientific networks.

All tasks must be carried out in close coordination with the holder of the Chair of Business Administration, specifically Industrial Engineering and Logistics.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

• a completed academic degree (Master’s or equivalent, ideally in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines),
• in-depth subject knowledge in business administration, production management, and logistics,
• experience in university teaching, instructional design, or learning experience design,
• experience at the intersection of academic discipline, pedagogy, and digitalization,
• Experience in developing digital teaching and learning formats (e-learning, blended learning, microlearning, video recordings of course content),
• good command of German and English (teaching materials may be in English).

In addition, the following are desirable:

• Experience in creating teaching or learning materials,
• experience in academic research and academic writing.
