The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) is one of Germany’s leading research-intensive universities of applied sciences. Research at HSZG involves addressing current challenges and developing practical solutions—in the following research areas:
- Energy and the Environment,
- Transformation Processes in Business and Society , and
- Materials, Structures, and Surfaces.
At both campuses in Zittau and Görlitz, engineering, natural sciences, and Social Sciences work closely together. This interdisciplinary connection makes research at HSZG strong and effective: regionally, nationally, and internationally. Students are involved in research projects from an early stage, and new findings are directly incorporated into teaching.
Research emerges from the collaboration of many stakeholders: students, researchers, companies, funding partners, and societal partners all contribute together to translating knowledge into impact.
