Indo-German Center for Higher Education (IGCHE)
The Indo-German Center for Higher Education (IGCHE) is a consortium of Indian and German universities whose goal is to provide students from both cultures with insights into the academic and economic systems of their host countries. As part of their studies at their home university, Indian students participate in an intensive, integrated German language training program until they begin their studies in Germany. After obtaining their degree, the Indian students continue their studies in German at the partner university and live in Germany for the remainder of their academic training. For German students, studies in India are conducted in English. Students in the IGCHE programs thus experience the foreign culture firsthand and, upon earning their degrees, can serve as key catalysts for German-Indian cooperation.
The IGCHE network consists of eight German and three Indian universities (as of August 2019).
