In departments where five severely disabled persons are employed on a more than temporary basis, a representative body for severely disabled persons is elected. It consists of a representative and at least one deputy.

In order to fulfill its duties, the representative body for severely disabled employees has rights to information, consultation and participation, such as involvement in appointment procedures and other recruitment procedures. The employer must inform the representative body for severely disabled employees in all matters that affect an individual or the severely disabled employees as a group and consult them before making a decision.
