Your way to us - this is how your application works!

Find a practice partner

You can apply for an apprenticeship at one of our KIA companies every year from September (approx. one year before your apprenticeship starts). You can find an overview here.

Can't find the company of your choice? Just get in touch - we'll be happy to help you get in touch!

Apply for the course

You will need the contract with the KIA company to apply for a dual or cooperative study program at the HSZG, which is possible every year from May.

You can apply online via the application portal.

Welcome to KIA!

Once you have your training contract and have been admitted to university, you are part of the KIA family.

We will celebrate this at the KIA Shuttle Start - the welcome event for all KIAs.

September

As a rule, a four-week basic phase at the company begins on September 1. During this time, you will be familiarized with your tasks and get to know your future working environment and your new colleagues.

You can also take part free of charge in the preliminary courses offered by us.

Study

Your dual or cooperative study program starts in October. You can find the exact schedule below.

KIA Shuttle Start

At the KIA Shuttle Start, all first-year students are sent through various stations to get to know each other and the university.

Of course, there's plenty of fun to be had with a few funny games and competitions. And hunger is also satisfied with refreshments for body and soul.

Also important to know:

Our KIApros are integrated into the above-mentioned process and use the KIAs' periods of practical vocational training for their part-time work in the company.

KIAdirekt is a practice-integrated form of dual study. During the lecture-free periods, practical work is carried out in the company. It is possible to have the practical periods recognized as practical semesters, which means that a Bachelor's degree is possible after just 3 years.

Organization

There are no separate vocational school lessons. The theoretical vocational content is taught in a compact form through regular lectures and additional teaching units on the specifics of the profession at the university. During the practical training periods, you will receive a monthly salary and are entitled to leave in accordance with the collective agreement.

After the training

After completing your vocational training, you complete the remaining semesters as a full-time student. At the same time, you often continue to work part-time at the company, usually on the basis of a study sponsorship agreement. The course ends with the desired university degree (Bachelor or Diplom-Ingenieur (FH)).
