How to Join Us—Here's How the Application Process Works!
Every year starting in September (about a year before the apprenticeship begins), you can submit an application to one of our KIA companies for an apprenticeship or internship. You can find an overview here

You’ll need the contract with the KIA company to submit an application for a dual or cooperative degree programme at HSZG. Applications are accepted each year starting in May for the winter semester and starting in December for the summer semester.
Important: Undergraduate (degree) courses begin in the winter semester. Only a few Master's degree programmes start in the summer semester. You can find more information about the application process here
Once you have your apprenticeship contract and your admission to the program, you’re part of the KIA family.
We’ll celebrate that at the KIA Shuttle Kickoff —the welcome event for all KIAs.
As a rule, a four-week basic phase at the company begins on September 1. During this time, you will be familiarized with your tasks and get to know your future working environment and your new colleagues.
You can also take part free of charge in the preliminary courses offered by us.
Your dual or cooperative study program starts in October. You can find the exact schedule below.
KIA Shuttle Start
At the KIA Shuttle Start, all freshmen are guided through various stations to get to know themselves and the university.
Of course, there’s plenty of fun to be had with a few entertaining games and contests. And everyone’s hunger is satisfied with a shared meal to nourish both body and soul.
Our KIApro students are integrated into the program described above and use the time allocated for their practical training to work part-time at the company.
KIAdirekt is a practice-integrated form of dual study. During breaks from classes, students complete their practical training at the company. Students have the option to have these practical training periods be recognized as a work placement semester, making it possible to earn a Bachelor degree in as little as 3 years.
