Information for international prospective students
The application for a study place is made exclusively online via the university's applicant portal.
Please note that foreign applicants can only be admitted if they have passed all individual requirements of their previous education, starting with the secondary school leaving certificate. This is regulated in the regulations for admission at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences dated 18.11.2024 in § 6, number (6), in the current version, for the admission of foreign applicants.

Proof of German language proficiency
(Note: Does not apply to the English-language bachelor’s program“European Business”or the bachelor’s program in Applied Nursing Science).
We accept the following language certificates:
- German Language Test for University Admission of Foreign Applicants – DSH*
- Test of German as a Foreign Language – TestDaF*
- C1 or C2 certificate from the Goethe-Institut
- Goethe-Institut’s Major or Minor Language Diploma
- German Language Diploma of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMMK) – Second Level
- telc German C1 University Level
- Certificate of the proficiency examination (including a transcript of grades), provided it was taken in German.
* For all programs in the economic and social sciences, at least DSH-2 or TestDaF Level 4 (in all four sections)
* For all technical and engineering degree programs: at least DSH-1 or TestDaF Level 3 (in all four sections)
If you cannot provide any of the required certificates, you have the option to take the placement exam or the DSH exam at our preparatory college .

Documents to be submitted:
1. A complete, tabular resume
2. All foreign educational credentials:
- university entrance qualifications (e.g., Baccalaureat, Maturität, Lise diplomasi, Attestat, etc.)
- if available, transcripts of records for completed periods of study
- if available, diplomas for degrees already earned
- if available, university entrance examination
- as well as an officially certified translation of these documents into German
3. APS certificate (applies to all countries where an examination process is a prerequisite for the issuance of a student visa)4. Proof of German language proficiency

for the summer semester 01.09. - 31.10.The complete application documents for applications to the Studienkolleg must be received by the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz for the winter semester by 15.05. (for Polish applicants by the 29th calendar week) of the year and for the summer semester by 15.11. of the previous year.

Further information
Tuition fees are only charged at the Studienkolleg. Depending on the course, they are between €800.00 per semester (DSH course) and €2,100.00 per semester (preparation for the assessment test). Further information can be found at https://studienkolleg.hszg.de/leben-lernen.
Only the applicable semester fee is charged for the degree course. The cost of living is between 500.00 and 600.00 euros/month (rent, health insurance, food ...)
VisaInternational students require a visa and proof of sufficient financial means. The visa process can take several months, so we recommend that you apply for your visa in good time. You can usually make an appointment to apply for a visa before you receive your letter of admission. However, remember to bring the letter of admission with you to the appointment. The winter semester begins on 01.09. and ends on 28.02. of the following year. The summer semester begins on 01.03. and ends on 31.08. of the same year.
