Declaration on accessibility
This statement was issued on October 1, 2020, by Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (represented by: Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, Theodor-Körner-Allee 16, 02763 Zittau); it applies to the website www.hszg.de and its subdomains.
Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) strives to ensure that its website complies with the Act Implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Bodies (Accessible Websites Act – BfWebG) of July 10, 2018 (Federal Law Gazette I, p. 117), in conjunction with the Ordinance on the Creation of Accessible Information Technology pursuant to the Disability Equality Act (Accessible Information Technology Ordinance – BITV 2.0) of September 12, 2011 (Federal Law Gazette, p. 738).
This accessibility statement applies exclusively to the HSZG website and its subdomains (central WebCMS), which can be accessed via the link hszg.de.
This website was developed using responsive web design principles. However, it is not yet fully compliant with the technical requirements of the BITV 2.0 regulation. We are working intensively to improve the site’s accessibility.
The accessibility statement is based on an assessment conducted using the BIKOSAX testing procedure of the German Center for Accessible Reading (dzb lesen). The BIKOSAX evaluation procedure consists of 49 test steps and incorporates both the WCAG test and the BITV 2.0 test.
Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, the websites are only partially compliant with the requirements of the BfWebG in conjunction with BITV 2.0.
Non-accessible content:
- Animated content (sliders) cannot be disabled.
- Alternative text for images and descriptions for tables are partially missing.
- Recorded videos are only partially captioned.
- Audio descriptions or full-text alternatives for videos are not available.
- Published documents (e.g., PDF documents, forms, brochures, flyers) are not fully available in an accessible format.
- The syntax is incorrect.
- Some data tables are not structured correctly, and some table cells are not assigned correctly.
The HSZG maintains a very extensive and diverse website with a large number of documents. This website was published before September 23, 2018, and in some parts does not meet current accessibility standards. We are continuously working to make the website and documents accessible.
