Studying in Germany - with practical experience
If you come from abroad, have passed all the individual requirements of your preliminary training and have a language certificate accepted by us, you can start the dual or cooperative study program with us - in the KIA or KIAdirekt model. Whether a direct or indirect (via preparatory college) university admission is available, you can find out on the website of anabin. You can find all further information on full-time study for international prospective students here
KIA
Engineering studies parallel to a recognized, chamber-certified vocational training (IHK or HWK).
KIAdirekt
Regular study program with integrated practical phases in the company during the lecture-free period.
You can find more information on both KIA models here
The KIA (sandwich-style) degree course at the HSZG enabled me to combine theory and practice directly with a company right from the start. I was able to gain valuable practical experience early on and was financially secure at the same time. Even after three years, I am still very glad that I chose the KIA (sandwich-style) degree course at the HSZG.
You meet all admission requirements and already have a language certificate accepted by our university
Every year from September (approx. one year before the start of your apprenticeship), you can apply for an apprenticeship or practical placement at one of our KIA companies. You can find an overview here
Do you need help finding a partner company? Write to us, we will be happy to help you!
You will need the contract with the KIA company to apply for a dual or cooperative study program at the HSZG. This is possible every year for the winter semester from May and for the summer semester from December.
Important: The undergraduate (Bachelor and Diplom) courses start in the winter semester. Only some Master's degree courses start in the summer semester. Applications can be made online via the application portal
Once you have the training contract and have been admitted to university, you are part of the KIA family.
We will celebrate this at the KIA Shuttle Start - the welcome event for all KIAs.
As a rule, the four-week basic training in the company begins on September 1. During this time, you will be familiarized with your tasks and make your first contacts with your new colleagues.
You also have the opportunity to participate free of charge in the preliminary courses free of charge.
Your dual or cooperative study program starts in October. You can find the exact schedule here.
* for all business and social science degree programs at least DSH-2 or TestDaF level 4 (in all four partial examinations)
* for all technical and engineering degree programs at least DSH-1 or TestDaF level 3 (in all four partial examinations)
If you cannot provide proof of any of the required certificates, we will prepare you specifically for the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) or the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) at our Studienkolleg.
At the end, you will receive a language certificate for your application to the KIA sandwich-style) degree course at the HSZG. During the preparatory course, you can apply for an apprenticeship or internship at one of our KIA companies and conduct your first interviews.
