Try out studying

High school students come to the university for a day to participate in hands-on activities in our labs or simply sit in on classes. Just like regular students, you’ll need to make a selection before the day begins:

  • Students in grades 10 through 13 browse our selection of degree programmes and choose one they’d like to learn more about on campus. By “enrolling,” you’ll get a taste of what it’s like to commit to a degree programme, which you’ll explore with us as part of the “Try Out College” program. Along the way, you’ll get to know the authentic learning environments and participate in experiments or workshops (see the topic catalog in the download section).
  • Students in grades 8 and 9 primarily select exciting experimental topics in the STEM subjects based on their academic inclinations and interests. Our list of topics in the download section offers plenty of inspiration.
  • In the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies, students participate in regular classes / courses for university students. Laboratory experiments are not possible here.

In addition to academic exchange, the program also includes getting to know the university campus. This includes eating in the student canteen at student prices, visiting the University Library, and enjoying the student atmosphere.

For the “Try Studying” program, you should plan to stay from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
