- A leave of absence will be granted only upon written request.
- The request must be submitted by the end of the re-registration period, stating the reasons.
- Please note: The request may only be submitted to the Admissions Office once it has been approved by the relevant departmental examination board. Incomplete requests will not be processed but will be returned to the student.
- Students may, upon request (during the re-registration period at the start of the semester) and upon providing evidence of compelling reasons, take a leave of absence from their studies for a maximum of two semesters.
- Leaves of absence are not permitted for the first academic semester.
- During the leave of absence, students remain members of the university and must re-enroll and pay the semester fee in accordance with the information on re-registration.
- Exams and coursework may be completed during the leave of absence. The deadlines and regulations set forth in the Study and Examination Regulations for the individual degree programmes apply.
- Retake and make-up exams are available upon request.
