The duties of the University Council are set forth in Section 91 of the Saxon Higher Education Act. It issues recommendations on shaping the university’s profile and improving its achievement and competitiveness, and is responsible, among other things, for drafting a proposal for the election of the Rector, as well as for approving the university’s development plan, the draft budget, and the annual financial statements.
