DeepL Pro: Translation and text support for HSCG employees - available from September 15, 2025

From September 15, 2025, AI access to DeepL.HSZG will be available to employees of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

The online platform DeepL.HSZG enables the fast and high-quality translation of texts and documents into numerous languages.

DeepL.HSZG is used for the following official purposes:

  • Translation of scientific texts: DeepL is suitable for translating specialist articles, abstracts, theses or reports into other languages and thus making research results internationally accessible.
  • Communication and correspondence : E-mails, letters and other correspondence can be translated efficiently, facilitating collaboration with international partners.
  • Translation of teaching materials: Lecture slides, scripts and exercises can be translated to provide teaching content for international students.
  • Support with language learning: DeepL provides support with expanding your own vocabulary, checking formulations and comparing translations.
  • Translating websites and online content: Foreign-language articles, websites or other online sources can be quickly translated and made accessible.
  • Translation of legal and administrative documents: Forms, information sheets or contracts can be translated, for example for international administration and consulting.
  • Support for international projects and collaborations: Project proposals, presentations or reports can be prepared for international research projects or collaborations in the target language.

  • What is DeepL?

    DeepL is an online translation service that allows texts or entire documents to be translated quickly and easily into many different languages. DeepL uses modern artificial intelligence to produce particularly accurate and natural-sounding translations. This makes DeepL suitable for anyone who wants to translate emails, scientific texts or teaching materials for international purposes, for example. The translation result can be directly adapted and reused.

  • How do I register at DeepL?

    Shibboleth is used to access DeepL; the login is done with the university login.

  • How do I obtain a DeepL license?

    The university has a total of 60 licenses at its disposal, the number of which is based on a prior needs assessment. The HSZG license model provides for unused licenses to be automatically released after a certain period of time and allocated to other persons.

  • What can I do if all DeepL licenses are currently taken?

    If all DeepL licenses are already taken at the time of your request, you can alternatively use the free version (without registration) of DeepL. Please note, however, that the content you enter will be saved with this option.

  • What is the difference between using a DeepL license and the free version?

    If you use the free DeepL version without registering, the texts, phrases and idioms you enter will be saved. However, if you use the DeepL license provided by us, your content will not be saved. This license is particularly recommended for anyone working with sensitive or confidential documents.
