The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, in the division of Technology and Facilities Management, is seeking to fill a position (40 hours/week) as

Land Use Planning Specialist (m/f/d)

for a fixed term of 2 years.

As part of a comprehensive organizational restructuring at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the existing spaces and buildings are undergoing structural adjustments. The goal is to ensure efficient and future-oriented use of space in line with current requirements for work and learning environments.

To support the division during the planned change process, the position holder (m/f/d) will be responsible in particular for the following tasks:

Developing the space utilization plan, taking structural changes into account, including:

  • Assessing the current space allocation,
  • Analysis and updating of space utilization,
  • Calculation of usable floor space in accordance with DIN 277 and verification of the plausibility of existing space data,
  • Coordinating with the heads of the organizational units to determine future space requirements, taking into account staffing changes and incorporating modern usage concepts such as open-plan offices and flexible workstation models (e.g., desktop sharing),
  • Preparation and documentation of the results as a basis for decision-making,
  • Preparing the handover of data to an external planning firm for the creation of a modified building development plan or for the reallocation of existing buildings, as well as providing support in coordinating the interface between the university and the external service provider.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • a completed college degree in civil engineering, real estate management, facility management, or a comparable field,
  • Knowledge of floor area calculation in accordance with DIN 277,
  • knowledge of the application of legal and procedural regulations (e.g., the Saxony Building Guidelines),
  • a confident demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team.

In addition, the following are desirable:

  • practical professional experience in handling building and floor area data as well as in floor area requirements planning,
  • knowledge of and experience with workflows and business processes in public administration, ideally at universities.

Salary is based on pay grade 11 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, provided the candidate meets the personal qualifications. The primary place of work is Zittau. Willingness to work at the Görlitz location is required.
