Lecturer with a specified function / English (m/f/d) - Reference Number: 36-2026 LfbA English -

Pursuant to Section 78 of the Law on Higher Education Institutions in the Free State of Saxony (Saxon Higher Education Act), the position entails the following duties in particular:

• conducting classes / courses independently and on one’s own responsibility,
• Conducting performance assessments (preparation, administration, evaluation),
• teaching basic intercultural knowledge,
• Conducting exams in English,
• second-marking and oral examinations in other courses and subjects,
• Assisting with administrative self-governance tasks.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

• a completed college degree related to the above-mentioned area of responsibility (ideally in English or American Studies, or supplemented by comparable, extensive professional knowledge and experience acquired elsewhere),
• pedagogical and didactic skills in teaching,
• experience in conducting classes / courses,
• strong communication and intercultural skills.

In addition, the following are desirable:

• experience with modern media,
• practical knowledge of another foreign language.
