in Zittau
Last Saturday, July 11, “Youth Vision Action” had the opportunity to introduce itself at oha! – Abenteuer Wissenschaft on the market square in Zittau. There we struck up conversations with visitors about Lusatia. We were particularly interested in the guests’ favorite places—whether at home, out in nature, by the lake, or at the playground.
On the other hand, we wanted to know what changes young people in particular would like to see in the region where they live. The answers ranged from specific ideas—such as skate parks, better infrastructure, more activities for children and teens, and more young people in the region—to greater tolerance, openness and a sense of community.
In addition to our collection of ideas, visitors were also able to listen to our sound installation and right in the middle of Zittau’s market square engage with the perspectives, concerns and hopes of young people from the region.
The project is funded by the grant program STARK – Stärkung der Transformationsdynamik und Aufbruch in den Revieren und an den Kohlekraftwerkstandorten of the Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWE).
