fixed-term position until December 31, 2027.

The aforementioned project aims to identify, test, and evaluate the conditions for successful care in Europe and to promote models of success across Europe. The project is led by Prof. Elizabeth Hanson (Linné University, Sweden). In addition to Sweden, partners from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Slovenia are represented. In each country, the consortium consists of one research institution and one nursing advocacy group. Four European nursing associations are also participating in the project.

The project focuses on the perspectives of caregivers and their long-term health, and it gives equal attention to both professional caregivers and family caregivers. Well Care addresses four central questions:

  • Providing data and knowledge on how to promote resilience and mental well-being among caregivers in a good way,

  • Identifying innovative solutions and prototypes: 5–8 prototypes will be implemented and tested in collaboration with practice partners in the five European countries mentioned above. The project will support these efforts with the goal of integrating them into the respective local, regional, and national contexts,

  • Developing evidence-based and practice-oriented recommendations for policymakers (based on this project and other sources),

  • Development, implementation, and sustainable establishment of a continuous research and co-design process with users and practice partners at the national level through blended learning networks.

In particular, the position involves the following tasks:

  • Preparing, conducting, and evaluating qualitative interviews,
  • documenting and evaluating Blended Learning Network sessions and focus group interviews,
  • Analysis of innovative solutions and prototypes to improve the resilience and well-being of caregivers in Germany,
  • Deriving evidence-based recommendations for action,
  • Close collaboration with the German practice partner in the joint project Wir pflegen e.V.,
  • Participation and networking within the overall European Well Care consortium,
  • Scientifically sound evaluation and documentation of results,
  • Reporting, public relations, and scientific dissemination.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • A completed academic degree, preferably in social sciences, nursing, health sciences, gerontology, psychology, or related disciplines,
  • preferably a Ph.D. or the prospect of obtaining a Ph.D. degree within the next 1–2 years,
  • proven expertise in scientific research and science communication in German and English,
  • in-depth knowledge and research experience in the field of informal and formal care, with a stronger focus on family caregivers,
  • fluency in spoken and written English,
  • experience in knowledge and technology transfer and in networking,
  • a confident demeanor, persuasive presence, and strong negotiation skills,
  • communication skills, creativity, and interdisciplinary thinking.

More Information

As part of the hiring process, you must submit a current, extended police clearance certificate to fulfill the hiring requirements in accordance with the current guidelines of the Saxon State Ministry of Culture. Salary is based on pay grade 13 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, provided the candidate meets the personal qualifications. The primary place of work is Görlitz.
