At the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz, Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies, a position (20 hours/week) is available as part of a project funded by the federal and state governments entitled "Developing, Promoting and Utilizing Potential - Attracting Professorial Staff through Internal and External Cooperation" as of 01.07.2026.

to be filled for a limited period until 31.12.2028.

The program to promote the recruitment and development of professorial staff at universities of applied sciences supports universities of applied sciences in the introduction and expansion of structurally effective instruments for the recruitment of academic excellence. The sub-project of the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies deals, among other things, with increasing attractiveness through profiling, positioning and networking and is integrated into an overarching project structure taking into account the central strategic goals of the HSCG. The position includes the following tasks:

  • Strategic further development of the faculty's positioning by establishing an integrated digital research and transfer platform to make scientific expertise, practice-oriented collaborations and interdisciplinary networks visible,

  • Development of innovative forms of teaching and learning across disciplines and degree programs, taking into account further developments and the integration of artificial intelligence

  • Taking on teaching activities (up to 4 teaching hours) in the area of culture-, creativity- or practice-related teaching formats, in particular creative workshops, cultural and event formats as well as sustainability-oriented design and development approaches,

  • Participation in the self-administration of the university.

 

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed academic university degree in a subject relevant to the area of responsibility, in particular in cultural studies, cultural management, communication, social, educational or management sciences or in a comparable interdisciplinary course of study related to the above-mentioned area of responsibility,

  • experience in the field of higher education development, teaching innovation and higher education management, ideally in the development of modern curricula, interdisciplinary programs or digitally supported change processes,

  • proven professional competence and practical experience in the subjects to be taught,
  • methodological, didactic and communicative knowledge and skills for university teaching,
  • strong key digital skills and experience with collaborative, data-related and AI-supported working and teaching tools,
  • good to very good knowledge of English.

 

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Experience in project work including presentation and documentation,
  • Experience in regionally anchored networking and transfer work as well as sensitivity for cultural and social characteristics of the university environment,
  • Knowledge of procedures and business processes in universities,
  • experience with digital forms of teaching and learning, project-oriented and challenge-based teaching and learning formats as well as interdisciplinary learning settings,
  • relevant additional qualifications or practical experience in the areas of digital university teaching, artificial intelligence, change management or university innovation,

The remuneration for tariff employees is in EG 13 TV-L if the professional requirements are met. The 1st place of work is Görlitz. A probationary period will be agreed.
