The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), Faculty of Social Sciences, is seeking to fill a vacancy as of 01.09.2025 in the field of

Inclusion and Participation
- Reference: 34-2025 SH-041 V -

to fill the position of a part-time (50%) professorship/W2 until 31.08.2026.

The position includes the representation of the above-mentioned professorship in teaching and research, in particular with the following focal points:

  • Theories, concepts, methods, professional development & research in special education and inclusive education

  • Participation-oriented diagnostics and the development and implementation of inclusion-oriented approaches

  • Institution-critical theories and concepts with a special focus on change processes of existing structures in terms of de-institutionalization and the promotion of inclusion.

The teaching commitment is to be implemented in lectures, seminars, exercises, internships and projects as well as in continuing education. The ability and willingness to participate in integrative, practice-oriented and internship-related courses is required. Courses must also be taught in English. The candidate is expected to teach courses related to the area of appointment.

In addition to teaching duties, independent research and development tasks in the field of appointment must be carried out. A corresponding level of commitment is required. The candidate must be actively involved in the internationalization of the university and the further development of the subject area. Tasks in academic self-administration are to be assumed. In addition, commitment to projects in the field of knowledge and technology transfer is expected.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • A successfully completed academic university degree, preferably in curative, rehabilitation and special education, inclusive education, social work or closely related fields,
  • a proven pedagogical aptitude in teaching or training in the university sector as well as relevant teaching experience, if possible at a university of applied sciences and in the main subject area,
  • demonstrable reference of the professional career to the contents and tasks of the professorship, practical experience with reference to the contents and tasks of the professorship, in particular practical experience in curative education fields of action,
  • special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate,
  • Experience in applied research and knowledge transfer,
  • the ability and willingness to teach in English.

We expect you to

  • independent performance of research and development tasks in the area of appointment
  • active participation in the internationalization of the university and the further development of the subject area
  • participation in research priorities and transfer projects of the HSZG, in particular participation in the university's third mission,
  • Ideally, experience in the conception, establishment and accreditation of study programs as well as in the acquisition of third-party funds,
  • assumption of academic self-administration tasks.
