Exchange, reflection and new impulses

HSZG organizes network meeting of the Saxon UAS staff universities at the HSZG.

On 12 May 2026, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences welcomed employees from the Saxon universities participating in the federal-state program FH-Personal to the Görlitz campus for a joint exchange.

The FH-Personal program is funded by the federal and state governments and supports universities of applied sciences in further developing strategies for the recruitment, development and retention of professorial staff. As part of the project, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is working on topics such as employer branding, appointment management, personnel development and innovative approaches to attracting new professors. The aim is to strengthen the university as an attractive employer and modern scientific location in the long term.

After the welcome address by the Rector of the HSZG, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, the focus was on the importance of sustainable structural development at universities. It became clear that many processes, formats and networks that have emerged within the framework of UAS personnel could not have been established in this form without the funding.

Brand ambassadors at universities

In the first part of the workshop, the participants dealt with the topic of brand ambassadors at universities. Together, they discussed who authentic brand ambassadors can be within universities, what framework conditions they need and how universities can identify and support these people. One impulse from practice showed in particular how important credible insights into everyday university life and authentic communication are.

Another focal point was the reflection session "UAS staff project: successes, stumbling blocks and prospects". The universities openly discussed successful measures, challenges and key learnings from the past project years. The importance of the trusting and collegial exchange of knowledge and experience within the Saxon network became particularly clear.

In addition to the professional discussions, the meeting also provided space for personal discussions and networking. Over lunch together and during the subsequent visit to the Görlitz synagogue, existing contacts were strengthened and new impulses for further project work were taken away.

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences would like to thank all participants for the open exchange and the pleasant cooperation.
