At the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz (HSZG), Rector's Office for University Development and Communication, a full-time position (40 hours/week) is available at the earliest possible date as

Employee for Quality Development (m/f/d)
- Reference: 22-2026 Quality -

to be filled for a limited period until 31.03.2028.

The position serves to support the current change process within the university - in particular in the context of university development, faculty mergers and administrative modernization - from the point of view of quality assurance and development. The university has an accredited quality management system (QM system) for studies/teaching, which needs to be further developed.

The position holder (m/f/d) will be responsible for the following tasks in particular, focusing on structural and organizational adjustments and digitalization:

  • Adaptation of the quality management system for studies and teaching, in particular:
    • Examination and further development of the QM concept in the focus of a process-oriented university,
    • Examination and adaptation of the relevant specification documents, e.g. regulations, process descriptions including the coordination of translations into English,
    • Examination and implementation of the possibilities of digitalization and the use of AI in the QM system
  • Adaptation of the internal accreditation/certification process for degree programs, in particular
    • Participation in the conception of the accreditation of partial degree programs,
    • Adaptation of the relevant specification documents, scheduling, etc,
    • Examination of the targeted expansion of digitalization and the use of AI,
    • Consultation/exchange with the university's stakeholders and committees (faculties, central institutions, etc.)
  • Adaptation of internal evaluation procedures in studies and teaching, in particular
    • Identification and implementation of the need to adapt the evaluation software database,
    • Development of an online portal for lecturers and faculty officials
  • Adaptation of central document management, in particular:
    • Adaptation to the new organizational and operational structure of the university,
    • Participation in a concept for the migration of data from the central document management system (currently Typo3) to a document management system.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed university degree with reference to the above-mentioned area of responsibility,
  • several years of professional experience in a university or scientific context,
  • knowledge and experience in quality assurance and development at universities and scientific institutions,
  • conceptual, analytical and communicative skills,
  • strong experience in the preparation of texts and presentations,
  • strong experience in the use of MS Office programs.

The following are also desirable

  • Experience and knowledge of administrative structures and processes and the relevant legal foundations of university operations, in particular of studies and teaching,
  • Knowledge and experience in process management,
  • Knowledge and experience in digitization projects, for example in setting up a document management system,
  • a keen interest in and basic understanding of the potential and possible applications of AI and
  • confident, practical knowledge of English.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 11 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
