to be filled for a limited period until 30.11.2027.

Since 2020, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has been shaping a comprehensive change process to ensure the long-term sustainability, quality and attractiveness of our study and research location. The resolutions passed by the Senate in October 2025 set the course for the future: We are modernizing our structures, sharpening our profiles and laying the foundations for greater internationality, digitalization and growth.

In particular, the following tasks arise:

  • Conception, implementation and further development of the university's internal communication (e.g. intranet, newsletter, circulars) with a focus on the change process in collaboration with the Change Officer,
  • Creating, editing and publishing press releases, maintaining and expanding media contacts and responding to press inquiries,
  • Ensuring a structured and target group-oriented flow of information within and outside the university,
  • Editorial preparation of topics from research, teaching and transfer, especially in relation to the university's change process for different target groups,
  • Monitoring and evaluation of media response.


The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed university degree, preferably in the fields of communication science, journalism, public relations or comparable,
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience in press and public relations work,
  • Very good editorial skills and confidence in writing for specific target groups,
  • Knowledge of digital communication (e.g. content management systems, social media),
  • Confident handling of common Office applications.

 

The following are also desirable

  • Familiarity with structures and processes in the university or scientific sector.

 

We expect from you

  • Strong communication skills and very good written and oral communication skills in German and English,
  • Ability to work independently, in a structured manner and on your own responsibility,
  • High organizational skills and reliability,
  • Ability to work in a team and strong service and cooperation orientation,
  • Ability to present complex issues in an understandable and target group-oriented manner,
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility, especially when dealing with short-term requirements (e.g. press inquiries).

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 11 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
