The interactive event at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will explore the question of which smart home applications are actually accepted and beneficial in the everyday lives of older people. In addition to identifying relevant energy consumers and specific potential savings, the focus will be on usability, user acceptance and perceived added value for older people.
Can a smart home be easy to use and still save energy? Which functions are accepted by older user groups - and which are deliberately rejected?
As part of a participatory approach, a digital smart home is being jointly designed that combines technological feasibility with user orientation and suitability for everyday use.
09-30 - 09:50: Arrival and welcome
09:50-10:10: Impulse
What is a smart home and how does it differ from other technologies? What are the current trends and challenges?
10:10 - 11:20: Designing your own digital smart home

11:20-11:35: Short break
11:35-12:00 Presentation of the demonstrators
The developed smart home solutions are presented and the individual functions of their "smart" devices are explained.
