What

Idea: We want to bring institutions, associations and groups that would like to draw students' attention to themselves together with students in the Makerspace!

10 minutes with 5 minutes for questions per topic

Come along, listen, join in!

The following associations will provide information about their work and show you how you can get involved:

  • Fawn rescue: Fly a drone with a thermal camera and search for fawns before the farmer mows the fields
  • Amateur radio: build your own antennas and equipment or take part in radio competitions (local group of the German Amateur Radio Club)
  • Freifunk: how can neighbors share their WLAN and operate their own services? Freifunk Oberlausitz
  • Digital Upper Lusatia: Get to know the work of Digital Upper Lusatia and exchange ideas about digitization and education
  • ChaosZone: We love free knowledge and free software! Network with us and get to know our opportunities in the region! Let's organize a DI-Day! (Werkraum Zittau)

Information about the Makerspace

The first events are taking place in the university's makerspace. We are looking for students, pupils and people from the university to get involved in offering and supporting the makerspace.

So far and in the future:

  • Soldering jewelry
  • Getting to know Arduino
  • Papercraft
  • Making Easter decorations according to regional traditions
  • Getting to know laser cutters
  • Get to know 3D printing
  • first steps in Python
  • Control measuring devices with Python

We are looking for people to present their own topics for pupils and students! In particular e.g.

  • Python
  • Geogebra
  • LaTeX
  • Your topic from biotechnology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, natural sciences, chemistry, art, or ...
