Medical technology in transition - technologies and innovations for the medicine of tomorrow

On November 5, the GAT Institute invites you to discover current developments and future prospects in medical technology. The focus will be on technological innovations that are changing diagnosis, therapy and patient care in the long term - from artificial intelligence and robot-assisted medical technology to the requirements of clinical practice.

Begin 05. November 2026 - 09:30 Uhr
End 10. March 2026 - 15:00 Uhr

Medical technology is one of the most innovative fields of technology of our time. Advances in artificial intelligence, robotic assistance and digital diagnostics are opening up new possibilities for more precise, efficient and patient-oriented diagnosis, therapy and patient care.

The keynote will provide an overview of the most important technological developments in medical technology and show which trends will shape the industry in the coming years. In addition to technological innovations, challenges such as regulation, clinical integration and economic implementation will also be discussed. The presentation will show what opportunities this presents for research, companies and innovation locations.

This will be followed by three thematic sessions that will delve deeper into key areas of innovation in medical technology:

AI in medical technology
Artificial intelligence opens up new possibilities for diagnostics, therapy planning and patient monitoring. Experts will present current applications and discuss the challenges involved in developing and integrating AI-based medical devices.

Robot-assisted medical technology
Robotic assistance systems are increasingly changing surgical procedures, rehabilitation and therapy. The session will provide insights into current developments in medical robotics and show how robotic systems can improve precision, safety and efficiency in patient care.

Medical technology meets the clinic - user requirements
What requirements does everyday clinical practice place on new technologies? In this session, experts from hospitals, research and industry will discuss how medical technology needs to be developed so that it actually offers added value in everyday medical practice.

The event brings together research, companies and users from the medical technology sector to discuss current developments, exchange experiences and provide new impetus for innovations in medical technology.
