The program to promote the recruitment and development of professorial staff at universities of applied sciences supports them in the introduction and expansion of structurally effective instruments for recruiting scientific excellence, increases their visibility and attractiveness as employers and increases equal opportunities, diversity and the compatibility of career and family.

As part of the project, the Department of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences is looking for a person with an interest in an academic career whose qualifications do not fully meet the requirements for eligibility for appointment in accordance with Section 59(1)(1-4) of the Saxon Higher Education Act. The scope of duties can be individually adapted to generate a focus on research activities or teaching experience, for example. The position includes the following tasks in particular:

• Conducting classes / courses (lecture, seminar, practical, excursions) in the field of cell biology or related fields (biotechnology) to the extent of 4 SWS / semester in consultation with the faculty,
• Participation in the teaching and laboratory organization in the Department of Biotechnology,
• Support in the preparation, application and implementation of (externally funded) research projects,
• Evaluation, summary and documentation of work results,
• Publication or participation in the publication of research results,
• Presentation of work results at (international) conferences.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• Completed scientific university degree in the field of biotechnology,
• Knowledge and experience in the field of cell biology/biotechnology,
• Foreign language skills (especially English).

In addition, the following are desirable

• Three years of professional experience in the application of scientific knowledge and methods outside a university (or willingness to provide this parallel to the project period),
• Completed doctorate or willingness to complete a doctorate during the project period,
• didactic skills and experience in university teaching.
