Cornelia Müller with a lecture on counseling methods in an orphanage at the beginning of the 20th century
From November 6 to 8, 2025, the conference „Historische Entwicklungen professioneller Methoden und Handlungskonzepte der Sozialen Arbeit“ (Historical Developments of Professional Methods and Action Concepts in Social Work) at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Freiburg, will examine how social counseling and educational approaches have developed over time. On November 7, Cornelia Müller will give a presentation entitled „Unterbrochene Spuren – Methoden der Beratung in einem Waisenhaus zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts“ (Interrupted Traces – Counseling Methods in an Orphanage at the Beginning of the 20th Century). Organized by the Historical Social Pedagogy/Social Work Working Group, the event promises exciting insights into the roots of the profession.
