to be filled for a limited period of 2 years.

The Institute of Process Engineering, Process Automation and Metrology (IPM) was founded in 1993 and has developed into the research engine of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences over the past few years. The IPM carries out application-oriented research and development work in the fields of energy technology and mechatronics. Particularly against the backdrop of structural change in the Lausitz region, the IPM is making important contributions to overcoming upcoming challenges.

As part of a pilot project to develop research-related public relations work, the post holder (m/f/d) will be responsible for the following tasks in particular:

Conception and further development of public relations, external presentation and science communication of the Department of Metrology/Process Automation in the IPM and the IPM, in particular by:

  • Creating and editing press releases, news articles, project texts, impact stories and social media content (MyHSZG-APP, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram),
  • target group-oriented preparation of scientific content for the public, specialist audiences, project partners and funding bodies
  • Coordination of media and information materials, creation and maintenance of flyers, presentations, visual materials, audio and video formats,
  • Maintenance and further development of digital communication channels including website and social media channels, in particular LinkedIn, including editorial planning and community management
  • Coordination of external inquiries and coordination with university communications, project partners and service providers
  • Planning, organization, implementation and follow-up of events, workshops, trade fair appearances and project meetings
  • Organization and follow-up of meetings including taking minutes,
  • Documentation of public relations activities as well as support with reports and evidence for funding bodies.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • very good relevant university degree, e.g. Bachelor, Diplom or comparable degree, related to the area of responsibility,
  • in-depth specialist knowledge and relevant experience in the field of public relations, science communication, media relations or event management,
  • Experience in the conception, organization, implementation and follow-up of events and public relations formats,
  • Experience in managing social media channels, especially LinkedIn,
  • very good written and oral communication skills and the ability to present scientific and technical content in a way that is appropriate for the target audience,
  • Experience in creating publicity materials and publications, e.g. flyers, presentations, web posts, social media posts or press releases,
  • Knowledge in the use of relevant graphics, layout and image editing software,
  • Confident handling of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs,
  • a good command of written and spoken English.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Experience with WordPress and Typo3,
  • Knowledge in the creation of print media, podcasts, interviews as well as photo, audio and video formats,
  • Experience in scientific, university or project communication,
  • Interest in scientific documentation, project reports and publications,
  • Interest in technical developments and contexts,
  • knowledge of corporate design, accessible communication and digital communication formats.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 11 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
