Research Associate Quantum Technologies (m/f/d)

to be filled for a limited period until 31.12.2027.

The "Saxon Research Network Quantum Technologies (SAX-QT)" pools Saxon expertise in quantum computing, quantum sensor technology and quantum materials in order to transfer research results to industry and society more quickly. Through joint workshops, training courses and cooperative R&D projects, the network strengthens the transfer of knowledge, increases the third-party funding capacity of its partners and positions Saxony as a leading location for future-oriented quantum technologies.

In the research network, you will support the network management in all operational matters and promote the transfer of knowledge between research, industry and the public. You will prepare specialist content on quantum computing and related technologies didactically, develop clear training and presentation materials and adapt these to different target groups (companies, universities, schools). Together with the partners, you will coordinate workshops, doctoral schools and further education formats, take on organizational tasks on site or online and ensure the quality of the content.

You will also be involved in the design of outreach and communication measures, create guidelines, short videos or demo notebooks (e.g. in Python/Qiskit) and maintain a central knowledge platform. You will support market and technology research, prepare results for reports and presentations and work closely with network management on administrative processes, scheduling and preparing third-party funding applications. Your role combines organizational skills with a professional interest in quantum technologies and contributes significantly to the visible and effective implementation of the network's offerings.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • scientific university degree (e.g. computer science, physics, mathematics),
  • solid knowledge or strong interest in quantum computing (Qiskit or comparable frameworks) and willingness to quickly learn new methods,
  • Confident handling of Python and at least one other programming language (e.g. C++, Java or Go)
  • Routine in Git/GitHub and common collaboration/project management tools,
  • Experience in the creation and didactic preparation of technical content (tutorials, teaching scripts, demo notebooks) - ideally for different target groups,
  • Organizational and planning skills for workshops, training courses and network meetings; reliable support for administrative processes,
  • very good written and spoken German and English.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Basic practice in data science methods or stochastic processes,

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Görlitz, but there are many opportunities for mobile working.
