Substitute for the professorship (W2) Didactics of Biology with focus on Zoology/Animal Physiology - Reference: 27-2026 LA-Fachdidaktik Biologie/V - (m/f/d)

The position includes the representation of the above-mentioned professorship in teaching and research, in particular with the following focal points:

• Didactics of biology,
• animal physiology.

The person holding the position (m/f/d) is expected to take on other subject-related modules in the degree program in addition to classes / courses on the above-mentioned focal points. The teaching duties include lectures, seminars, exercises and the supervision of practical school studies and projects, as well as the implementation of zoological identification exercises and the development and establishment of a teaching laboratory for animal physiology.

In addition, the candidate is expected to contribute to the conceptual development and establishment of the new cooperative study programme, including appropriate networking with lower secondary schools in the subject of biology (upper secondary, inclusive and special schools), as well as to participate in academic self-administration and scientific organization.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• A relevant university degree with a focus and corresponding experience in subject-related teaching and learning or in fields of education, usually through a degree in biology teaching,
• three years of practical school experience or suitable teaching experience
• sound knowledge and teaching experience in the fields of zoology and animal physiology,
• Applicants are primarily qualified in research and teaching in the field of biology didactics.

In addition, experience in the acquisition of third-party funding for basic biological didactic research projects as well as projects for application, development and transfer research is desirable.
