Research Associate High Voltage Technology (m/f/d)

to be filled for a limited period until 31.08.2028.

This research project investigates the long-term behavior of electrical properties under combined thermal, water and electrical stress of PVC low-voltage cable insulation for DC applications.

The position includes the following tasks in particular:

  • Development and planning of material investigations using self-developed and constructed high-voltage test rigs,
  • Statistical evaluation and derivation of macroscopic statements,
  • Coordination and organization of collaboration with the cooperation partner and
  • Writing and presenting interim and final reports during the course of the project,
  • Collaboration in writing scientific contributions for international and national anthologies, conferences and meetings and their presentation and discussion,
  • Participation in the discussion of scientific content with industry partners and other research institutions (colleges, universities, research centers) as well as in expert panels (conferences).

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • very good university degree in the field of electrical engineering,
  • in-depth specialist knowledge and relevant experience in the field of high-voltage technology,
  • Experience in the field of conceptual design, construction of test rigs and independent execution of tests,
  • Experience in the construction of test setups and their assembly,
  • Experience in project management,
  • Experience in writing technical test and experimental reports as well as scientific texts,
  • Experience in the use of MS Office, Matlab, Python,
  • Written and spoken German and/or English (B2).

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Knowledge in the field of high-voltage testing and measurement technology,
  • Knowledge in the field of materials technology and dielectric measurement technology,
  • Experience in the field of automation technology (PLC).
