to be filled for a limited period until 30.06.2027.

In the "CircProMet" research project, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is developing a research facility for optical 3D measurement technology for manual and automated dismantling processes. The aim is to develop practical technologies for a resource-conserving circular economy. The project is part of the large-scale research project "CircEcon" and addresses key topics such as cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence and sustainable dismantling.

By developing technological expertise in the field of measurement technology and dismantling processes, the project is contributing to structural change in Upper Lusatia.

The job includes the following tasks in particular:

  • Participation in the construction, commissioning and technical support of a new research facility for optical 3D measurement technology,
  • Support in the development, implementation and evaluation of measurement and disassembly processes on a laboratory and pilot scale,
  • Support for technology transfer activities, in particular application tests and training with regional industrial partners,
  • Documentation and scientific evaluation of the results in close coordination with the project management as well as
  • Participation in project communication, internal coordination and preparation of scientific publications.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed university degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, production engineering or related engineering disciplines,
  • Knowledge or strong interest in the field of production measurement technology and production processes,
  • Technical understanding of automation, sensor technology or image processing,
  • Ability to carry out structured tests and technical documentation,
  • independent, reliable and solution-oriented way of working and
  • strong teamwork and communication skills.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • If possible, many years (3 years) of relevant professional experience,
  • initial experience with optical 3D measurement methods (e.g. fringe projection, triangulation),
  • basic knowledge of data processing (e.g. Python, MATLAB) or AI applications in the production environment,
  • initial experience with 3D simulation environments (e.g. Visual Components),
  • Experience in dealing with cobots, robotics or automation systems and
  • Interest in technology transfer, training conception or cooperation with industrial partners.

The remuneration for tariff employees is up to EG 12 TV-L if the professional requirements are met (with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience). The 1st place of work is Zittau.
