Company visit to the Eurofins environmental, safety and EMC laboratory in Reichenwalde
On April 16, 2026, ten students from the "Electromagnetic Compatibility" module visited the company Eurofins in Reichenwalde near Berlin as part of an excursion. A practical day was held there in collaboration with Rohde&Schwarz. The aim of the visit was to gain practical insights into various testing and development areas.
The students were given guided tours of several departments on site. These included the safety testing department, the environmental laboratory and the EMC department. It became particularly clear how technical products are tested for safety, environmental compatibility and electromagnetic compatibility under realistic conditions.
A particular highlight of the excursion was the tour of the anechoic chamber with a 10-meter measuring section. The impressive facility impressively illustrated the complex requirements of modern measurement and testing technology and was met with great interest by the participants
The visit to Eurofins impressively demonstrated the scope of the device tests required for certification. The large anechoic chamber was very impressive. The electromagnetic emissions of a standard flat screen and a laptop were measured there. ... The measurements gave me a good feeling for the order of magnitude of the physical quantities introduced and discussed in the lecture.
The company visit offered the students valuable insights into industrial processes and supplemented the theoretical content of their studies with practical experience.
