The team led by project manager Professor Sophia Keil has successfully implemented two further innovative training courses for employees in Upper Lausitz as part of the "EurOpA" research project , the "Lausitz - Life and Technology" alliance .

Handover of the sustainability concept

A very special highlight took place as part of these training sessions: Jens Gerlinghoff, Managing Director of the Oberlausitz Skilled Workers Network, handed over the sustainability concept developed by the Oberlausitz Skilled Workers Network to project manager Professor Sophia Keil.

The sustainability concept is part of the sustainability strategy developed as part of the "EurOpA" project based on the following dimensions: Ecology, Economy and Social and to ensure the sustainability of the results.

Evidence-based further training

On the one hand, there was the further training course Leading to Success, which particularly addressed those interested in future-oriented corporate management and gave them a well-founded overview of today's demands on leadership in dynamic and robust companies.

On the other hand, the further training course Problem Solving with Design Thinking, in which participants learned about the tools and methods of the Design Thinking approach and process and applied them to practical examples.

Both training courses were very well received by participants from companies in the Upper Lusatia region. Everyone agreed: against the backdrop of economic and social structural change and the digital transformation of the industry, specific further training courses are needed to make good skilled workers available in our regional labor market. Without qualified employees, companies in Upper Lusatia will not be able to maintain leading positions on national and international markets in the long term.
