- Many of our degree programs have no admission restrictions. For these programs, applications are accepted even after the deadline until the capacity limit is reached.
- For degree programs with restricted admission (numerus clausus), the deadline is July 31, 2021 (date of receipt!), and this deadline must be strictly observed.
At HSZG, first-year students are offered the opportunity to study efficiently and quickly—in a welcoming atmosphere and with a reasonable cost of living! Whether it’s studying abroad, participating in research projects, or completing internships with our numerous partner organizations: at our university, students can give their professional careers that extra edge even while they’re still in school!
Good to Know
The Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as Business Administration and Engineering Management, have revised their degree programmes, adapted them to current and constantly changing requirements, and, as a result, introduced extensive amendments to the statutes governing individual degree programmes.
The Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies is pleased to announce the launch of the new degree programme in International Business Communication. This new bachelor’s degree programme focuses on the fundamental disciplines of management and Business Administration and uniquely integrates them with the methods and aspects of effective communication. In doing so, it places a strong emphasis on languages and experiential intercultural understanding.
Another new development at this faculty is that the Tourism Management degree programme will be available without a points-based admission system (numerus clausus) starting in the upcoming winter semester. Due to high demand, however, the points-based admission system has been reintroduced for the culture and management degree programme.
Prospective social science students can choose from a wide range of degree programmes with restricted admission (numerus clausus). Since the winter semester of 2017, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has participated in the nationwide application process administered by the Foundation for University Admissions (DoSV) for its Social Work degree programme. Applicants for this degree programme must therefore first register online via www.hochschulstart.de on the DoSV application portal and only then submit their application to our university.

Do you want to advocate for sustainability and write a research paper directly as part of your studies, or contribute to finding sustainable solutions to the pressing problems of our time through a job as a student assistant? The diverse degree programmes in the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences offer good conditions and enable a wide range of research. Take, for example, our LaNDER³ research project.
The bachelor’s, master’s, and Diplom degree courses in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering —with its two specializations, “Mechanical Engineering” and “Energy and Environmental Engineering”—were recently successfully accredited or certified for seven years. Students involved in the process praise the teaching at their faculty and invite prospective students to pursue a practice-oriented degree in a close-knit atmosphere. The accreditation and certification of the degree programmes is a quality assurance tool within the framework of Quality management for academic studies and teaching at HSZG. All degree programmes at HSZG undergo a quality review every seven years.
- Applicants who already hold an Abitur or Fachhochschulreife certificate should submit their application by mid-June if possible. Confirmations of internships and vocational training certificates may be submitted later.
- Applications can only be submitted online via our application portal. There, you can also check the current status of your application (receipt, completeness, etc.).
