Exoskeletons in geriatric care
How can modern technology support older people and caregivers?
As a result of demographic change toward an increasingly aging society, the use of modern technologies to support caregiving staff is now coming more and more to the forefront. To this end, assistive technologies such as exoskeletons are being tested. These support caregivers’ musculature during physically demanding tasks.
But there are also many other technical aids that older adults can learn about at Vati Navigator and AAL-Lab Görlitz. However, as Bill Pottharst explains, such technologies will never fully replace the loving, caring hands of a human being. See for yourself:
Through its part-time Master's degree programme in Social Gerontology, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences trains leaders to address the challenges associated with demographic change. Applications are currently being accepted!
