The TRAWOS Institute cordially invites you to the scientific research colloquium on October 23, 2025 at 12:30 pm.
The focus will be on current results from two projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) as part of the funding line"REGION.innovativ. Researching regional factors for innovation and change - strengthening society's capacity for innovation":
ATRAKTIV - Building Transformative Capacities to Activate Regional Innovation Systems
Focus ATRAKTIV: The ATRAKTIV project researches how cities and regions can strengthen their transformative capacity in order to actively promote sustainable social change - for example in the course of the socio-ecological sustainability transformation. Instead of understanding innovations only in technological and economic terms, ATRAKTIV also focuses on social innovations that promote new ways of thinking and acting. Based on various interdisciplinary approaches, the aim is to gain an understanding of regional management processes towards a socio-ecological sustainability transformation and to understand innovation as a driver for sustainable development and social change.
Focus BePart: The BePart project investigates how social and societal innovations can be promoted in structurally weak regions - using the example of Lausitz. Ethnographic case studies are used to identify conditions that promote or inhibit change. Innovative participation formats will be tested together with local stakeholders. The aim is to develop exemplary procedural knowledge that contributes to the sustainable promotion of social innovations in comparable regions and focuses on aspects such as sustainability, prosperity and quality of life beyond purely industrial settlements.
The project teams will present central research findings with reference to governance logics in areas remote from agglomerations and different format developments for application-oriented research papers on social innovation capacity in rural regions and discuss their significance for regional development processes. Afterwards, we invite all participants to an open exchange to reflect together on perspectives, questions and suggestions. We look forward to your participation and an inspiring dialog!
