Inspired by Florence Nightingale's methods from 150 years ago, a small nursing home called Dagmarsminde in Denmark practices a controversial treatment for people with dementia: "Umsorgung", a recipe of hugs, conversations, eye contact, cakes and cocktails. Shifting the focus from medicine to care treatment, staff improve residents' quality of life by fostering a sense of community that celebrates life, creates comfort and encourages conversation.
