"A scholarship? You don't need a 1.0 for that!"

You’ve always thought that scholarships are only for the absolute top students—we want to dispel this stereotype and many other misconceptions. To that end, we cordially invite you to an informational event on the topic of “scholarships” on November 10, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. in Building Z IV, Room 1.02.

With a scholarship, you receive financial support from a foundation that assists you throughout your entire degree program or for a specific period, such as one year. There is usually a base amount of 300 EUR, which—depending on the foundation—can even be supplemented by the individual BAföG rate or used to fund study abroad or research stays. The main advantage of a scholarship is that you do not have to pay the money back. The foundation may be affiliated with a religious organization, the business community, a labor union, a political party, or the government. Accordingly, there are also opportunities for non-academic education, such as through seminars. In a brief introductory presentation, we’d like to introduce you to all the foundations so you can find one that’s right for you. Afterward, you’ll have the opportunity to talk with current scholarship recipients and alumni. This way, you can ask them how they secured their scholarships, how the selection process worked, and get additional tips for an application.
