Perhaps you have more in common with the person you’re talking to than you might think at first glance? “Mensch, Görlitz! revisited” is a traveling exhibition exploring the themes of social participation and community life in Görlitz. In the exhibition, residents of Görlitz offer insight into their personal perceptions, hopes, aspirations, fears, and barriers when it comes to spending time with neighbors and friends or making new acquaintances.
The goal of the project is to highlight the social and cultural participation of Görlitz residents through an exhibition and to demonstrate that the leisure activities of all Görlitz residents can be just as colorful and diverse as people themselves. At the same time, however, the exhibition also aims to encourage people to approach others without prejudice and to recognize common ground in order to foster a new sense of community.
The “Mensch, Görlitz! revisited” project is taking place as part of the Project Management and Organizational Development module. This collaborative project involves students in the Social Work program at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Lebensschule Görlitz AWW e.V., the Görlitz Volunteer Agency, and the SG Integration department of the Görlitz district. This initiative is co-financed by tax revenues based on the budget approved by the members of the Saxon State Parliament.
