The economy, market and politics are becoming more dynamic and complex and predictions are becoming more uncertain. More and more decisions are being made in the face of uncertainty. People have to organize their own actions and those of teams, groups and organizations.

This places increased demands on all graduates, as in addition to "hard skills", i.e. specialist knowledge, "soft skills" or competencies should also be acquired during their studies. Competencies are skills for self-organization, are self-organization dispositions. Self-organization is defined as acting in open problem and decision-making situations, in complex, often chaotic systems.

In addition to knowing "how to do it", mastering challenges also requires a corresponding attitude in order to appear competent. We offer to measure this attitude - personal value pattern or competence level - with the KODE® method. This procedure is not a personality test, but measures the  value attitudes in different situations, which can be changed.

As a student at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, you have the opportunity to have your competence self-assessment carried out free of charge using the KODE® method.

You can find more information on how the self-assessment process works in the tutorials on using the career portal for skills development here.

You can register on our career portal for skills development with your university login and request your skills self-assessment.

The career portal as an orientation aid during your studies offers assistance in defining your development goals for your dream job by selecting job families.

The career portal as a digital assistant in skills development offers you individual development plans as well as suitable events for individual skills development.

How does the self-assessment of skills take place?

Logging in to the career portal for skills development via the university account

  • After logging in to the career portal for the first time, it may happen in individual cases that access rights are not assigned automatically.
  • In this case, please contact us at kompetenzentwicklung(at)hszg.de
  • You will then receive confirmation of the allocation of your access rights as soon as possible.

You can apply for competence self-assessment under the Competence Assessment menu.

You will then receive a personal email, usually one week before the next evaluation event, with information on the competence self-assessment and your link to the questionnaire.

During the two-hour evaluation event, you will receive your skills profile evaluation and can use all the functions of the portal.

  • It is very important that you have completed your questionnaire and arrive on time for the evaluation event, as for technical reasons it is not possible for individual interested parties to enter later.
  • As this evaluation is cost-intensive, only questionnaires from participants who are present will be evaluated.
  • All completed and unevaluated questionnaires will be deleted at the end of the event.

After the evaluation event, you can arrange another individual evaluation appointment in order to receive further impulses and support for your personal skills development.
