"Hear, hear!" - Learning and teaching with microteaching podcasts

This short online workshop will briefly and concisely show you the opportunities and challenges of using podcasts for your own teaching.

Begin 10. March 2023 - 13:00
End 10. March 2023 - 15:00

Podcasts make it possible to create audio content quickly and easily and make it available to a wide range of users via the internet. There are many ways in which these can be used in university teaching. According to Annette Busse, there are three types of podcasts as a didactic tool for higher education:

  • "as a substitute for class / courses,
  • to deepen classes / courses and
  • podcasts created by learners themselves for the preparation or follow-up and/or consolidation of classes / courses.

The latter topic in particular is the focus of this course

In the first part of the short online workshop, you will be introduced to good practices in which microteaching podcasts have been designed and produced by students for students in the context of university teaching. The second part offers you an overview of how these self-produced podcasts can be integrated into your own teaching in a didactically meaningful way to deepen learning content and develop skills.
