The three-semester Master's degree systematically builds on your basic knowledge of natural sciences, engineering or economics and allows you to start your studies flexibly. With a 210-credit Bachelor's degree, you can start directly in the summer semester. If you have 180 credits, you can acquire the missing credits via a preparatory semester in the winter or make up for them with 1 year of professional experience. In the preparatory semester, you will gain an introduction to the topic of sustainable corporate management. The two study semesters combine theoretical foundations with intensive practical application through project work, excursions, guest lectures and an internship integrated into the course (theory-practice transfer module).
In the first semester, you will focus on the fundamentals of various management systems and choose from a wide range of compulsory elective modules from renewable energies to IT security. The second semester deepens your knowledge of auditing and integrating systems. In the third semester, you will focus entirely on your Master's thesis and develop innovative solutions for current challenges in integrated management systems.
For the KIAdirekt variant, practical phases are completed in the company during the lecture-free period.

The Master's semester takes place in cooperation with companies.

You develop and implement integrated management systems in companies. You coordinate quality, environmental, energy and occupational health and safety processes and ensure their optimal integration. Your expertise combines various standards into efficient overall solutions.
Sustainability management
You manage sustainability strategies and coordinate the corresponding reporting. You develop concepts for responsible corporate governance, monitor key figures and communicate progress to stakeholders and the public.
Auditing and certification
You carry out internal audits of various management systems. You evaluate processes, identify potential for improvement and accompany certification procedures. Your comprehensive knowledge of all systems enables efficient integrated audit approaches.
Energy management and climate protection
You optimize operational energy consumption and develop climate protection strategies. You plan renewable energy systems, analyze energy flows and implement measures to reduce CO2 emissions. Your work combines technical expertise with economic evaluation.
Consulting and expert opinions
You support companies in the introduction and optimization of management systems. You prepare expert reports, accompany approval procedures and advise on legal requirements. Your interdisciplinary expertise enables you to take a holistic approach to consulting.
Regulatory supervision and enforcement
You monitor compliance with environmental, energy and occupational health and safety regulations in companies. You carry out inspections, evaluate permit applications and support the enforcement of legal provisions for sustainable business practices.
