About the degree program

Modern companies face complex challenges: They must simultaneously meet quality standards, guarantee environmental protection, use energy efficiently and ensure occupational health and safety. The Master's degree in integrated management systems in Zittau is unique in Germany and will make you an expert in holistic corporate management. You will learn how to intelligently link different management systems and optimize sustainability, efficiency and compliance.

Holistic expertise for sustainable corporate management

The innovative Master's degree program provides you with comprehensive skills in five core areas:

  • Occupational health and safety management for safe workplaces

Practical projects in companies, TÜV certifications at special conditions and modern software applications prepare you optimally for the diverse requirements of the job market. After three semesters, you will be qualified for management positions in a forward-looking professional field that combines economy, ecology and social responsibility.

What's special: This course is optionally available as a cooperative KIAdirekt course. This means you work in a company (the cooperation partner) and earn money. The KIAdirekt variant at our university is explained in more detail here.

You can complete the Master's degree in integrated management systems in 3 or 4 semesters. Or you can opt for a practice-integrated part of the course in the KIAdirekt concept. This starts as early as September with 4 weeks of practical experience in the company.

What is KIAdirekt?

KIAdirekt is a practice-integrated study model. It effectively combines theory and practice and is supported by the Saxon state government and leading companies.

You apply the knowledge you have acquired through practical work in the internship semester and in the company. The compulsory elective modules allow you to specialize further according to your preferences. Details

Course content

The three-semester Master's program systematically builds on a broad foundation of knowledge and allows you to start your studies flexibly. With a 210-credit Bachelor's degree, you can start directly in the summer semester; with 180 credits, you can acquire the missing points via a preparatory semester in the winter. The first two semesters combine theoretical foundations with intensive practical application through theory-practice transfer modules.

In the first semester, you will focus on the fundamentals of various management systems and choose from a wide range of compulsory elective modules from renewable energies to IT security. The second semester deepens your knowledge of auditing and system integration. The degree program also offers international modules and language courses for a global perspective. In the third semester, you will focus entirely on your Master's thesis and develop innovative solutions for current challenges in integrated management systems.

You develop and implement integrated management systems in companies. You coordinate quality, environmental, energy and occupational health and safety processes and ensure their optimal integration. Your expertise combines various standards into efficient overall solutions.

Sustainability management

You manage sustainability strategies and coordinate the corresponding reporting. You will develop concepts for responsible corporate governance, monitor environmental indicators and communicate progress to stakeholders and the public.

Auditing and certification

You carry out internal and external audits of various management systems. You evaluate processes, identify potential for improvement and accompany certification procedures. Your comprehensive knowledge of all systems enables efficient integrated audit approaches.

Energy management and climate protection
