Research assistant (m/f/d) wanted!

The GAT Institute has a vacancy for a Research Associate (m/f/d) from 01.07.2022. APPLICATION DEADLINE is 20.05.2022.

As part of the accompanying research project "Participation and Co-Creation for Innovative Technologies for Informal Caregivers and Care Communities" (PiTiPS) funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), Institute for Health, Ageing, Work and Technology (GAT), is looking to fill a part-time position (20 hours/week) as of 01.07.2022 as a

Research Assistant (m/f/d) - Keyword: PiTiPS -

to be filled for a limited period until 31.12.2025.

As part of the sub-project "Gerontological foundations and scientific monitoring of participation and co-creation of informal caregivers and care communities in the development of innovative technologies" of the above-mentioned joint project, the position holder (m/f/d) will be responsible for the following tasks in particular:

  • Implementation, analysis and evaluation of the accompanying research process with a focus on
    a) the development of technologies for informal caregivers,
    b) the participation of informal caregivers in technology development contexts and
    c) the (further) development of methods and theories for a) and b),
  • Research tasks on social and behavioral science principles in the development of technologies for informal caregivers, the participation of older people in technology development and human-technology interaction with technical assistance systems in the home and care of older people,
  • Participation in communicating the results to the scientific and social public and
  • Participation in project management and in the presentation and documentation of project results.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Academic degree in the field of social, nursing or health sciences, gerontology, psychology or a related subject with reference to the above-mentioned field of activity,
  • Scientific knowledge and experience of older people, family caregivers and home care,
  • Interest in digital technologies,
  • Interest in participatory methods in the field of technology development and
  • application of empirical social research methods.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Knowledge of and, if possible, (research) experience in the field of digitization (e.g. on age, health and care),
  • experience in working in research projects, project management and the preparation of scientific texts, presentations and publications and
  • a working knowledge of English.

  • a flexible and team-oriented way of working and
  • very good verbal and written communication skills.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L.
