BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg students visit AAL laboratory in Görlitz

As part of the bachelor's project "Good Aging in Upper Lusatia", students from the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg visited the AAL (Ambient Assisted Living) laboratory in Görlitz on June 18, 2025.

The excursion took place under the direction of theAlterPerimentaleinitiative at the Department of Regional Planning and was part of a study trip to the region lasting several days.

The visit was organized in collaboration withAntje Petzoldco-organizer of thePractical Research Center Görlitza sub-project of the AlterPerimentale. The focus of the laboratory visit was to examine technical innovations designed to make it easier for older people to live independently in everyday life.

The students gained exciting insights into the use of age-appropriate assistance systems on site and discussed the opportunities of such technologies for demographic change in rural areas such as Upper Lusatia with those responsible.

The visit was an important impetus for the students' project-based research - and a successful bridge between science, technology and practice.

The AAL lab is part of the Saxony5 project. You can find more information here.
