The time has come! The new Bachelor's degree program "International Business Communication" will officially start in the winter semester 2021!
After much precision work on course content, the right processes, countless meetings and many discussions with internationally active companies, institutions and academics, one thing is certain: with the "International Business Communication" degree program, the HSZG offers unique opportunities for our graduates to help shape the economy of the future with special professional, communicative, digital, linguistic and intercultural skills!
Prof. Falk Maiwald introduces the new course in the video.
The economy urgently needs experts with sound management skills who can use professional communication to build bridges between internationally active companies and successfully deal with people from different cultures within and between companies.
Our seven-semester Bachelor's degree course is aimed at creative minds who are interested in business, enjoy communicating and languages and are keen to gain intercultural experience.
During your studies, you will learn how business, management, law and digitalization work in the modern world and how to make companies, networks and projects successful in the long term. You will also learn how to communicate professionally and can deepen this according to your inclination and interests: in the field of internal communication, which involves, for example, managing employee collaboration in a digitalized working world (new work, home office), or in the field of external marketing communication, which deals with media, PR and social media marketing, among other things, or in cross-border or regional networking with international partners.
In contrast to similar degree courses, we provide you with a targeted English specialization as well as a special professionalization in German language skills. Due to our predestined geographical location in the border triangle, you will learn the linguistic and cultural interaction with our important economic neighbors in Poland or the Czech Republic directly and in real life.
During your studies, you will not only be taught practical content in the modules, but you will also be able to develop and deepen it in projects and in an entire practical semester at an international level.
Graduates have a wide range of opportunities to start their careers. The multilingual focus is ideal preparation for an international and cross-industry career! Depending on the chosen specialization, the Bachelor's degree opens up a wide range of employment opportunities. The following fields of activity in companies or institutions are possible:
Students who want to get started with their own start-up are also given the necessary tools.

The key questions of the future can only be answered on the basis of international cooperation. Interdisciplinary approaches are becoming increasingly important. There are few places in Europe where economic, cultural and social contexts can be studied in such an applied way as in the border triangle between Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Benedikt M. Hummel, Managing Director of Görlitzer Kulturservicegesellschaft mbH
The "International Business Communication" course is very relevant to us as a company. We look forward to the students who complete this course with the best results. Thanks to intelligent machines and AI-supported processes, human communication is becoming increasingly important, even becoming a unique selling point. Those who manage to communicate effectively and efficiently, even across national borders, hold the key to project success. I also recommend keeping a strong focus on technical understanding, not taking things for granted, but understanding them. We wish all students on the new course every success. Dr. Stefan Jakschik, Board of Management ULT AG
In our fast-moving and media-driven times, it is essential for managers to be able to communicate flexibly and appropriately. Particularly in international economic cycles, national or cultural peculiarities must be taken into account in such a way that one's own interests are not compromised. Thanks to its well thought-out curriculum and the networking of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the new International Business Communication course offers an excellent basis for this. Thomas Zenker, Lord Mayor of the large district town of Zittau
