At the graduation ceremony of the Studienkolleg of the HSZG on July 9, 31 students were delighted to receive their diploma, which entitles them to study at a German university.
Relief, pride and an infectious good mood filled the town hall of Zittau's town hall last Friday. On this day, the young graduates of the Studienkolleg of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences were presented with their diplomas. The 31 students were visibly happy and full of joy when they received their certificates.
At the preparatory college of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, young people from all over the world complete their preparatory year in order to subsequently study at a university in Saxony or in another federal state.
They can choose between three subject specializations. Future students can opt for the technical or economics course or study at the preparatory college with the aim of acquiring the German Language Test for University Entrance (DSH) certificate.
This year's students come from a total of twelve different countries. They have traveled between six and 8000 km to be able to study at the Zittau Studienkolleg. They come from Germany, Poland and Hungary, Indonesia and Nepal, India and Vietnam, Morocco and Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan and even the USA.
I am very pleased that a total of 14 of the Studienkolleg graduates have decided to begin their studies at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in the fall, including the best two, who come from Nepal and Morocco. commented Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch.
In his speech, the principal emphasized that the past year was particularly challenging and exhausting. Due to the pandemic, the students were only able to meet for lessons virtually. This required not only an increased willingness to learn on their part, but also a high level of commitment from the teaching staff at the Studienkolleg.
Everyone was all the happier to have managed this. Due to the pandemic, the students were not able to perform their own play as part of the certificate ceremony, as is usually the case. Nevertheless, the ceremony took place in a dignified and festive setting and was accompanied by piano music. The young people will now enjoy the summer before starting their studies in the fall. Good luck and success to them all!
