The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is seeking to fill a 1.0 FTE position at the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies in Görlitz as soon as possible.

for a professorship in Business Administration, in particular Human Resources, Leadership and Entrepreneurship (W2)

to be filled for a limited period until 29.02.2028.

The position includes the representation of the above-mentioned professorship, in particular with the following focal points:

  • Design of organizations and work systems with a focus on personnel, structures and processes,
  • Strategic and operational personnel management and leadership, including international contexts,
  • Organizational development, transformation and change in practical economic contexts,
  • Entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and innovation management including business model development,
  • New forms of work, team collaboration and performance management,
  • Project and implementation-oriented work in interdisciplinary and practical formats

in lectures, seminars, exercises, internships and projects as well as in continuing education. Where appropriate, classes / courses related to the area of appointment are to be taken. The teaching units must be secured university-wide.

The ability and willingness to conduct integrative, practice-oriented and transfer-related classes / courses, also in cooperation with practice partners and as part of student projects, is required, as is the willingness and ability to offer classes / courses in English.

In addition to teaching duties, the post holder is expected to be actively involved in company-related networks, initiatives and the innovation and start-up ecosystem at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. In doing so, he or she should take on application and transfer-oriented research and development activities and link these with issues of personnel management, organizational development, business start-ups and leadership in entrepreneurial and innovative contexts - both independently and as part of student-related projects. Active participation in the expansion of the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and start-ups at the HSZG is expected.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • a successfully completed academic university degree with reference to the main subject areas,
  • a particular aptitude for academic work (usually demonstrated by a relevant doctorate),
  • experience in applied research and knowledge transfer, especially at the interface of human resources, management, organization and business practice,
  • demonstrable links between the professional career and the content and tasks of the professorship, including practical, project or consultancy experience,
  • Teaching experience in higher education or further education,
  • when filling the position, particular emphasis is placed on relevant practical experience in the subject area, especially in companies, start-ups, innovation or transformation contexts.
