At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), the Education Office of the Vice President for Education and International Affairs and the Centre for Knowledge Transfer and Education (ZWB) are seeking to fill a position (30 hours/week) as a staff member
Education Staff Office/ZWB (m/f/d) – Reference: Education Staff Office RB
on a permanent basis. In addition, an increase to full-time status is possible, initially on a fixed-term basis until December 31, 2024.
The position primarily involves overseeing the coordination of the Administrative Office and the ZWB under the direction of the Vice President for Education and International Affairs, providing executive support to the Prorectorate for operational and strategic tasks, and managing educational projects at the ZWB. This includes, in particular, the following responsibilities:
- Executive assistance and coordination within the Prorectorate:
- Preparing and following up on internal and external management decisions, meetings, and sessions of the Prorectorate, including documentation, presentations, and the drafting of speeches, addresses, and welcoming remarks;
- analytical tasks and reporting,
- monitoring the target values set by the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture, and Tourism (SMWK),
- coordination of cooperation with the relevant departments of the SMWK, handling inquiries from political and business circles and other parties interested in higher education,
- internal and external coordination and communication, independent consultation with and by internal and external stakeholders and bodies,
- Planning, organizing, following up on, and coordinating events,
- Preparation of informational materials, news and social media articles, and press releases,
- Budget control and monitoring of financial resources.
- Management of ZWB projects
o Human resources management, project communication, project reporting,
o Acquisition of educational projects,
o Project coordination.
The following knowledge and skills are required
- a completed college degree,
- proficiency in project management and standard MS Office programs,
- Professional experience in the German or international higher education sector,
- Experience in applying for and implementing (external-funding) educational projects, ideally in the higher education sector,
- good written and spoken German and English.
In addition, the following are desirable:
- management skills in the education sector,
- knowledge of decision-making structures and processes at universities and in self-governing bodies,
- experience in using and designing media with high public impact.

Salary is based on pay grade 12 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, provided the candidate meets the personal qualifications. The primary place of work is Zittau; willingness to travel on business and to work at both of the university’s campuses is required.
