At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies, a position (20 hours per week) is available as part of the launch of new nursing degree programs:

Lecturer with a specified function (m/f/d)

— Reference: 51-2024 LfbA Heilkunde —

to be filled as soon as possible. The position is initially limited in duration until June 30, 2026; thereafter, the university aims to offer permanent employment to support ongoing academic operations.

 

In accordance with Section 78 of the Law on the Freedom of Universities in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG), teaching duties include, in particular, classes / courses in the medical modules or modules with a medical component in nursing degree programs—including clinical supervision pursuant to Section 38(3) of the Nursing Act (PflBG) and the state examination pursuant to Section 39 of the Nursing Act (PflBG)—with a focus on the field of medicine.

In addition, you will be involved in the following areas of responsibility:

  • Contributing to the further development of the practical components of nursing degree programs, including the implementation of skills and SimLab sessions for clinical care areas,
  • Coordinating and supervising students during clinical placements with a focus on medical care activities,
  • Providing information and advising prospective students about the degree programme and collaborating with clinical sites on the design of clinical modules,
  • Participating in public relations activities, e.g., attending trade shows and college information days, organizing events for high school students, creating informational materials, and similar tasks, as well as
  • Supporting the faculty’s research projects.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

  • a completed university degree in medicine,
  • a medical license,
  • ideally, experience and specialized expertise in current legal requirements for academic nursing education and degree programs (general nursing),
  • good written communication skills and analytical thinking, as well as
  • a driver’s license.

In addition, the following are desirable:

  • pedagogical and didactic skills in teaching,
  • knowledge of simulated teaching (Skills/SimLab),
  • knowledge of university-related structures and processes,
  • experience in research, as well as
  • additional language skills.

Further information

Salary will be based on Pay Grade 11 of the TV-L collective bargaining agreement, provided the candidate meets the personal qualifications. The primary place of work is Görlitz.
