"Live the country. Love the country"

A short film shows the life plans of women in agriculture who talk about their nature-influenced way of life.

The short film "Land leben. Land lieben" gives an insight into four different lifestyles of women in agriculture. The openness of the protagonists is thought-provoking. The short film was the prelude to the first female producers' tour, which is a new format for encounters between women from a specific sector. Women are invited as knowledge carriers and their strength for development processes in the region becomes visible.

The first stop was dedicated to women who work as producers in agriculture, as cheese producers and farmers, in the dairy industry and in solidarity farming.
The participants first explored the Lindenhof farm (in Pfaffendorf near Görlitz) as a production site for cheese, bread and vegetables. They then prepared lunch together before discussing perspectives on rural life in Upper Lusatia in two table discussions. The topics of the table talks were "Farming between breadwinning and self-realization" and "Farming between farm community and work collective".

Further producer tours to meet and network women from other professional sectors are planned.

The short film was produced by Sînziana Schönfelder (project team member at theTRAWOS InstituteGörlitz district) and René Beder as part of the project "Gender-sensitive welcome project and networking in the district of Görlitz" with funding from the Free State of Saxony, Demography Directive. The project aims to improve the opportunities for young qualified women in the district of Görlitz to stay, migrate and develop individually by illustrating experiences (exemplary biographies), supporting communication and networking and organizing information and advice (sponsorships) for women and regional stakeholders.
